Abstract We give an example of a pair real Banach spaces such that they are neither linearly isomorphic nor with respect to the structure Birkhoff–James orthogonality, but have mutually homeomorphic geometric spaces.

Some results on functionally convex sets in real Banach spaces
We use of two notions functionally convex (briefly, F--convex) and functionally closed (briefly, F--closed) in functional analysis and obtain more results. We show that if $lbrace A_{alpha} rbrace _{alpha in I}$ is a family $F$--convex subsets with non empty intersection of a Banach space $X$, then $bigcup_{alphain I}A_{alpha}$ is F--convex. Moreover, we introduce new definition o...

and Applied Analysis 3 (3) k D (z 1 , z 2 ) ≤ c 1 log(1+|z 1 −z 2 |/min{d D (z 1 ), d D (z 2 )})+ d for all z 1 , z 2 ∈ D. Gehring and Palka [14] introduced the quasihyperbolic metric of a domain in R, and it has been recently used by many authors in the study of quasiconformal mappings and related questions [16]. In the case of domains in R, the equivalence of items (1) and (3) in Theorem E ...
متن کاملPolynomials and Identities on Real Banach Spaces
In our present paper we study the duality theory and linear identities for real polynomials and functions on Banach spaces, which allows for a unified treatment and generalization of some classical results in the area. The basic idea is to exploit point evaluations of polynomials, as e.g. in [Rez93]. As a by-product we also obtain a curious generalization of the well-known Hilbert lemma on the ...
متن کاملReal Banach Spaces with Numerical Index 1
We show that an infinite-dimensional real Banach space with numerical index 1 satisfying the Radon– Nikodỳm property contains l1. It follows that a reflexive or quasi-reflexive real Banach space cannot be re-normed to have numerical index 1, unless it is finite-dimensional.
متن کاملStructure of Local Banach Spaces of Locally Convex Spaces
1. Introduction and notation. In this paper the word " local " is used in at least three different meanings. Our aim is to study local Banach spaces of Fréchet or other locally convex spaces, and it turns out that it is convenient to use the local theory of Banach spaces for this purpose. Recall that given a locally convex space E and a continuous seminorm p on E the completion of the normed sp...
